Programme for Active Learning (PAL)

PAL @ Opera Estate Primary School

In Opera Estate Primary School, all P1 and P2 students undergo Programme for Active Learning (PAL) within the curriculum hours. During PAL, students will be engaged in fun and varied learning experiences where they get the opportunity to discover new interests, learn new skills and develop character through the following modules:

1) Sports and Games
2) Performing Arts (Music, Creative Dance and Drama)
3) Visual Arts
4) Outdoor Education

Students also learn socio-emotional competencies such as respecting others and responsible decision-making. The PAL modules aim to provide P1 and P2 students with the opportunities to :

• explore and exhibit their curiosity about things and places around them and beyond
• develop positive attitude to learn new skills and experiences
• develop confidence in what they do
• develop open-mindedness in collaborating with peers
• express themselves effectively

PAL MODULES FOR PRIMARY 1 & 2

PAL Sports & Games

Students learn the importance of taking turns and working together during Sports and Games.

PAL Visual Arts (Lego & Strawbees)

Students work collaboratively to express their ideas and creativity through various art forms. Students also learn to respect and show appreciation for one another through positive words and affirmation.

PAL Outdoor Education

Students collaborate to explore and work on a common goal. Students recognise that everyone has a part to play and the importance of working together.
